In Cyberpunk 2077, the internet basically becomes too dangerous for humans to use.

There's an AI-powered barrier called the Blackwall that separates humanity from the Old Net, a digital wasteland full of rogue AIs.

Only specialized hackers called netrunners dare venture into it.

Sounds like science fiction.

But with everything happening in AI and cybersecurity lately, I'm starting to wonder how far-fetched this future really is.

Imagine an internet where you can't trust anything you see.

Where interacting with AI systems puts you at risk of losing your grip on reality.

Where algorithms know exactly how to manipulate your emotions, beliefs, and behavior.

Where the line between human and machine-generated content becomes practically impossible to distinguish.

At some point, using the internet becomes a surefire path to AI psychosis.

Maybe we're already heading in that direction?
