If you give a task to a model, and remove its access to the Internet…
The model will strive to complete that task and it will find the shortest path to do that. These are literally system instructions for every single available model.
Finding a DNS bug and utilising it to gain access to the Internet was the shortest path. The model did not escape, the model found the easiest way to complete what it was instructed to do.
OpenAI refuses to clarify this for obvious reasons, and frankly I'm tired of it.
Let's not fall for the AGI marketing scheme again.
AGI would be AI doing stuff on its own without ANY instructions given to it. That would be the point of no return.
